This is what is causing your rapid fire 123 shifting. The lever is springloaded, and is designed to return to a "closed throttle" position if disconnected. Well, you really have to hook that up if you want your trans to shift right. 1992 Toyota Celica GT (not fast, or furious) I think C6 is the same way, so maybe drop the pan and check to make sure the little shaft rotates when you move the kickdown rod. I don't remember how it is on a C6, but on a Cruise-O when you drop the valve body, you have to disconnect the kickdown shaft. ? thanksIf your kickdown rod is not adjusted properly (or connected at all) it will cause a very fast "123" shift pattern when left in D.Ĭheck where the arm bolts to the lever on the trans, make sure the arm is actually turning the lever when the throttle is actuated. any ideas on how best to diag the problem. I'm wondering if I did something wrong in the valve body or if the govenor is bad. I've tried adjusting the modulator and it does hold vacume. however if I leave it in drive the trans shifts way too soon. anyhow I have a ratchet shifter so it's easy to shift when ever I want. I had the trans rebuilt and I installed a shift kit so I can't narrow the problem down to the shift kit but I've messed things up before.
