La Dama de Elche: This iberian sculpture, famous in all of Spain and a symbol of our heritage, is referenced in the headpiece and jewelry that Rosalía has on in the music video. All of my mother side is Manchego, so that’s why I love that they are represented here:) Here are some other pics of manchego windmills and the general landscape: Manchego windmills: Those windmills represent the typical Manchego landscape, also alluding to the most known chapter of the most influential Spanish novel ever, Don Quijote. But the two elements I wanna talk about, that are really dear to me, are the following: Firstly, the wolf that can be seen at one point, is one of our main predators, along with the lynx and wild bulls I guess. She keeps the urban aesthetic she’s been using in all of the music videos with the motorcycle stuff (that also is a sound in the song itself) and she keeps using Spanish elements and symbols. This is probably my favourite video in terms of like the symbols she uses because they affect me personally. In this song, basically, the husband shows his abusive side, wanting to keep his wife on lock down and even it is implied that he hits her.īut firstly, this song has a Music Video! So, like always, I’ll first talk about it: In this song things get really dark… The title translates to “You are not getting out of here” so yeah, lovely.
